在现代的世界里人们想购物的时候不需要出门。近年来网上购物越来越流行。很多购物网站，尤其是亚马逊和淘宝，非常受欢迎。网上购物对我们的生活有很大的影响。据很多报道所说，网上购物快比在购物中心购物还流行。有的人认为购物网站会把购物中心淘汰掉。在这篇文章中，我想说明人们为什么那么喜欢网上购物。
我对罗德岛大学的大学生做了一个调查，在这调查中我请学生说明他们对网上购物的看法和习惯。根据我做的一个调查所显示，令人惊奇的是，学生说他们每年就网上购物两次或者三次的最多。做这个调查以前我以为学生可能最少每个月网上购物一次。我第二个问题是问学生他们最喜欢什么购物网站。百分之一百的人说他们最喜欢亚马逊，这可能是因为很多学生是从美国来的。我觉得如果中国人多，那肯定不是亚马逊而是淘宝。我也问这些人他们更喜欢网上购物还是在购物中心购物。更多人说他们喜欢网上购物。我最后请这些学生写他们为什么网上购物。他们都说他们是为了方便才网上购物。
我做的调查跟一篇10why.net文章观点差不多。这篇文章也说人们喜欢网上购物，因为网上购物又方便又有更多选择。比如说：在亚马逊网站，顾客会买很多日常的东西，色彩丰富、漂亮的衣服、日常食品，好多颜色的床单、甚至于现代艺术的画。这些东西都可以很容易在亚马逊或淘宝买到。
在跟一位商学专家访谈时，我问这位专家是否认为购物网站真的会取代购物中心，因为我听说在中国很多购物中心需要停业。他说这个现象实际上是没有理由的。虽然网上购物很方便，但是在网上看的时候客人看不到东西的质量怎么样， 所以网上购物固然方便，但还是有缺点。从质量的方面来看，东西的质量没有一定的标准。尤其是买衣服的时候，在网上客人不知道他们想买的衣服合身不合身。因为这个合身的问题所以很多人讨厌在网上买衣服，这些人可能会不满意他们买到的衣服。其实购物中心停业不是不可以避免的，我们的下一代还会需要购物中心。
结论是，我们的生活跟购物网站有很直接密切的关系。以前，在家里买东西是不可思议的，但是近年来由于网上购物越来越方便，人们不需要每次想买东西就去购物中心。网上购物不是有更多选择吗?
英文翻译 English Translation
In our modern world people no longer need to leave their homes when they wish to shop. In recent years, online shopping is increasingly popular. Many shopping websites, Amazon and Taobao especially, have received much welcome. Online shopping could have very important effects. According to many people online shopping is quickly becoming even more popular then shopping malls. Some feel that online shopping will knock out shopping centers. In this article, I hope to illustrate why people enjoy online shopping.
When preparing to write this article, I conducted a survey. In this survey I asked students to explain what they think about and why they enjoy online shopping. I first asked students how much time they generally spent online shopping in a year. Surprisingly most students said that they online bought things online a couple of times a year. Before this survey I presumed that students would shop online at least once a month. My second question asked students which online shopping site they enjoy the most. One hundred percent said that they like Amazon. This probably because the majority of students where American, if more had been Chinese Taobao would have been more popular. I also asked the students if they preferred online shopping or shopping at a mall. Most students said that they prefer online shopping. Finally, I asked students to write why they shop online. They all responded that they shop online for convenience.
The results of my survey agreed with the opinions of a 10why.net article. The article also said that most people shop online for convenience and more choices. Shoppers can buy beautiful clothes, everyday food supplies, and fun toys. This is very easy on sites like Amazon and Taobao.
I also had a great opportunity to interview University of Rhode Island’s business professor, Feihong Xia. I ask Professor Xia if he felt that shopping sites would replace malls. He said this did not really have merit. Online shopping is very convenient, but shoppers do not know the quality of the items they are buying. Buying clothes that will fit correctly is especially challenging. It will be easy for shopping malls to avoid shutting down. We will still need stores in the future.
In conclusion, shopping sites really effect our society. In the past buying an item from home was inconceivable, but now people do not need to go to the mall every time they want to shop. Online shopping is convenient and provides many choices!
